about

Fearless Heart is an eclectic mix of tunes that covers heavy rock songs carried by victorious guitars and booming drums ("Fearless Heart", "Good Grace"), pure Americana ("Loneliest Girl in Nashville", "Let’s Be Outlaws"), more intimate, heavy-hearted ballads ("October 29", "Can’t Keep a Town", "WWIII With You") and even a big Christmas song ("Christmas in Paris, TN").

But there’s a continuity in the track listing: in the signature songwriting of Andres, her distinct vocal style and the running theme of geographical instability.

The heartache of the search for a place called home.

Always moving, always changing, the record is a true reflection of Andres’ way of working and living: on the move and on the run. Full of contradictions.

Track Name: Loneliest Girl in Nashville
I left my home, I even left my dog
To go to that town we were dreamin' of
To follow a dream I don't believe in
To follow the twang of all those guitars ringin'

Took a bus and then took a plane
I rented a car when I missed the train
I slept at the motel, slept in a car
Had nowhere to go so I stayed at the bar

And now now now here I am
And now now now here I stand
25 bucks and a guitar in my hand
I never wished so hard I had just one true friend

I miss my home, Lord I miss my dog
And when I cry it's her I'm thinkin' of
Tennessee's a beauty and the people are kind
It's not the place, man it's just all in my mind

And now now now here I am
And now now now here I stand
17 bucks and a guitar in my hand
I never wished so hard I had just one true friend

And now now now here I am
And now now now here I stand
I came for the light and I came for the thrill
I came for what's fake and hoped some of it is real

I'm the Loneliest Girl in Nashville

I came for the light and I came for the thrill
I came for what's fake and hoped some of it is real

I'm the Loneliest Girl in Nashville
Track Name: Fearless Heart
I wish I knew how to make it start again
Kickstart it like the engine of a vintage car
I wish I could just try to love again
I used to do just fine but this has gone way too far

No matter the hurt no matter the doubt
I try to breathe in, man I try to breathe out
Keep that chin up and hope to keep
A fearless heart
A fearless heart

I wish I could erase some of the things we said
Forget the pain, the mess we made, forget the past
The look on your face when you saw that we failed
Our broken love story and the shadows it still casts

I wish I could restart it like the engine of a vintage car
I wish I could restart it oh I wish I had a fearless heart

No matter the hurt no matter the doubt
I try to breathe in, man I try to breathe out
Keep that chin up and hope to keep
A fearless heart
A fearless heart
Track Name: Good Grace
I never quite fallen down so fast
I never quite fallen down so low
I left my job and I left my house
There’s all kinds of heart breaks you know

And when I fall back on my feet
I’ll remember who stayed and who quit
When I’m back in the Lord’s Good Grace
I’ll hit you hard right in the face

I never quite felt so damn sad
I never quite felt so low
All I want is a simpler life
But I keep taking the hardest road

And if prayer alone won’t do
It’s more help than I ever got from you
I may just be talking to myself
What does it matter if it helps

And when I fall back on my feet
I’ll remember who stayed and who quit
Oh when I’m back in the Lord’s Good Grace
I’ll hit you hard right in the face
Track Name: October 29
I know I messed with the plan again
And I let some good people down
But I never meant to hurt a friend
I’s just runnin’ after this luck of mine

And I know the damage done
I’m just a coward really sometimes
I just hoped I’d find a home
Get it all together and settle down

Maybe I’ll find a new one
Maybe I’ll find a new home
Come October 29

I gotta face all my wrong choices
I always knew I was the runnin’ kind
Quit many jobs, lovers and places
Maybe I was just passin’ time

But maybe I’ll find a new one
Maybe I’ll find a new love
Come October 29

Come October 29
Track Name: Country on my Mind
Some think you gotta be born and raised in Dixie
Better if you’re somehow Hank’s long lost family
My blood sure’s closer to the gypsies
But my heart, my heart yearns for Country

I guess it’s something you find when you’re down and out
Between an empty bottle and a dead end sign
Country is a place you come to to ease your mind
It’s a place you come to to ease your mind

It’s not just trucks and beer and whisky
More than any bumper sticker can read
It’s codeine and twang and love and wild stories
It's a piece of American dream for the lonely

And Lord knows I got a worried mind
That only finds rest in a Dwight Yoakam rhyme
That never really felt anywhere at home
That only finds peace in a Guy Clark line
That’s why I always have Country on my mind

I guess it’s something you find when you’re down and out
Between an empty bottle and a dead end sign
Country is a place you come to to ease your mind
It’s a place you come to to ease your mind

That’s why I always have Country on my mind
Track Name: Let's Be Outlaws
Oh darling my darling
Let’s get on our way
Oh darling my darling
Tell me What would you say

If we’d hit the road
If we’d quit our jobs
Let’s break a little law
Let’s feel a l little joy

Oh darling my darling
You know anything goes
So darling my darling
Let’s be outlaws

Oh darling my darling
This ain’t the life we chose
Forced to make a living
All the while, we grow old

Oh darling my darling
Let’s turn the tables
Let’s get back on the road
You know I’m willing and I’m able

Please darling my darling
Let’s be something more
Darling my darling
Let’s be outlaws

Let's be Outlaws
Track Name: Can't Keep a Town
I have never really found
A good reason to stick around
Oh I’ve tried to settle down
Can’t keep a man, can’t keep a town

I’m so tired of bummin' around
With a broken heart I’m nowhere bound
Everytime I stop and cry
I swear I hear that pedal steel whine (in a constant backing sound)

All I long for is a porch of my own
A place for my dogs to grow old in rural bliss (how about this)
All I want is a key to something stable
A place called home I would never leave and never miss

I’m so lonesome I could cry
I’m so tired of saying goodbye
I’m so tired of driving away
Losing friends and my memories

I have never really succeeded
At anything at all
At love I lost every little bet
‘Almost’ could be my middle name (can you hear it play?)

All I long for is a porch of my own
A place for my dogs to grow old in rural bliss (how about this)
All I want is a key to something stable
A place called home I’d never leave and never miss

...with a broken heart I’m nowhere bound
...can’t keep a man, can’t keep a town
Track Name: A Heart That's True
Something in you is missing
It makes you fall apart
A little piece of something
That drives or crashes the car

I tried to fix it for you
Though you never wanted me to
My strongest love as my only tool
But you wouldn't let me do it
No you just never could

Something in you is broken
I knew it from the start
Oh with the weight of this burden
You'll never get too far (x2 both lines)

I tried to carry it for you
At least the part that I could
With the strength of a heart that's true
But you wouldn't let me do it
No you just never could

Something in you is broken
I knew it from the start
And you don't want no fixin’
There's too much pride in your heart
Track Name: Christmas in Paris, TN
I felt so blue, I felt so lonesome
I couldn’t stand the sight of snow
I couldn’t take this merry cold
Despite 4 layers under my coat

I bought a ticket at the airport
To Atlanta on a flight from Frankfurt
I had no luggage of any sort
Well not the kind they check you for

I felt so blue, I was so lonely
Christmas should never feel like this
But I sent a postcard to my family
Merry Christmas, with love from Paris

It’s because of you that I find myself here
Because you ruined the best time of the year
In a little room just watching TV
Alone for Christmas, Alone in Paris
Alone for Christmas, AloneinParis,
Tennessee

I felt so lonesome, I was so blue
I couldn’t stand this night without you
I couldn’t take the joy, the lights, the songs
And the market down the avenue

I felt so blue, I was so lonely
Christmas should never feel like this
But I sent a postcard to my family
Merry Christmas, with love from Paris

It’s because of you that I find myself here
Because you ruined the best time of the year
In a little room just watching TV
Alone for Christmas, Alone in Paris
Alone for Christmas, AloneinParis,
Tennesseee

And who wouldn't want to spend Christmas in Paris?
Track Name: WWIII With You
It was almost Christmas time
I woke to the buzzin’ a little before 9
The whole block was still sleeping
Your text was vague but I knew straight away
Saturday morning, Second time around

And after the shock and the anger and the pain
I started to wonder what would matter in the end
So the nightmare we all expected had just come true
Would I spend or survive World War III with you?

Anything feels unimportant
Compared to the death of an innocent man and five of his friends
And yet compared to what’s still coming
I know it really is a little grain of sand

And after the shock and the anger and the pain
I could feel the shift, everything has changed
I started to wonder what would matter in the end
Maybe it’s for the best, everything has an end
The dust of the explosion let show the true value
Of things around me, of the people that I knew

Would I spend or survive World War III with you?
Will I spend, will I survive World War III with you?
